About

Welcome to my enchanted world!

Kia Ora, I’m Saras

The creator behind Wonderland Raglan. I craft original pieces by hand, infused with love, care and intention. My home studio is based in Whaingaroa/ Raglan, beneath the sacred Karioi Mountain, on New Zealand’s wild west coast. Here I find inspiration all around me, especially in the raw beauty of Mother Nature. Forever in awe of the natural world around us ~ the ocean, forests, trees, foliage, birds, river stones and the simple beauty of everyday things. The forest is my happy place and its quiet magic is woven into all of my work. Each piece is unique, one of a kind and a small offering in honour of the Devine Feminine.

I am drawn to things that have lived a life - weathered, worn, and full of history. In an increasingly fast paced world I intentionally choose to work slowly. Crafting in small batches, with no two pieces exactly the same… just as in nature.

In the past few years I have developed a deep passion for plant based dyes, eco printing and natural fibres, creating garments that are infused with nature. The alchemy unfolds - tree bark, clay, leaves, buds, flowers and rust all gifting their colour and shapes to the cloth. Once you have felt the comfort and ease of wearing natural fibres like linen, hemp, cotton and wool, it is very hard to wear anything else. I also find great joy in breathing new life into pre-loved garments. Handmade or repurposed, my offerings exude wildness and rustic beauty. Encouraging us to embrace simplicity, sustainability, and the joy of pre-loved treasures.

Join me in celebrating a world where every piece has its own story, a homage to living slowly and honouring the incredible natural beauty that surrounds us here in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
